15 years/15 hours race

How many times can you tag “Steinninn” in 15 hours?

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories (those who finish most laps).

The overall winners in the men’s and women’s categories will receive Ihighly acclaimed trophy ESJUSTEINNINN, which is handcrafted by Þórir Sigmundsson, using stones specially selected from the slopes of Mt. Esja.

Additional prizes will be awarded to the first woman and first man to complete 5 ascents and 10 ascents.

Note: The same competitor (male or female) may be the fastest to 5 ascents, fastest to 10 ascents, and also the one who covers the greatest distance.

Competitors will have their number of ascents and time recorded in the final results on timataka.net for 5, 10, or 15 ascents.

ITRA: Times for 5, 10, and 15 ascents will be registered with ITRA (note: the longest distance completed by the competitor — 5, 10, or 15 ascents — will count).

When the 15-hour race time has ended, if two or more competitors have completed the same number of ascents, the winner will be the one who completed the final ascent first.

This means that the finish time of the last ascent counts — not the competitor’s position or distance on the course after the 15-hour limit.

Competitors are free to end their race whenever they choose, but must complete at least 5 ascents to avoid a DNF.

⚠️ Limited spots are available for the 15-hour race!

The race will start on the 13th of June at 8am

Start location: Esjustofa

Please pick-up your bib number at the 66°North Flagship Store (Faxafen 12, 108 Reykjavik) from 16:00-18:00 on the 12th of June.
