About Mt. Esja Ultra

Mount Esja dominates Reykjavik's skyline and the view from the top of this 914-metre high mountain is breathtaking.

Mt Esja Ultra  has been held since 2012 and the 15th edition of of the race will be on the 13th of June 2026.

The main event for 2026 will be a 15 hour race up and down the mountain. The half marathon will be held for the third time. Its just over 21km with 1500m vertical gain. 

The marathon, 43km (3600m vertical gain), with 5 different climbsm, will be postponed until 2027.
